Palafrugell is an inland town but has the maritime neighbourhoods of Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Tamariu, where you will find the most beautiful sea landscape of la Costa Brava. The most exceptional sightseeing point of these view are: Cap Roig castle that has also a botanic garden, Sant Sebastià  lighthouse and also the walking path next to the coast, called camí­ de ronda

Palafrugell is well known for its tradition of havaneres singing (typical fishermen songs), cork manufacturing and of being the town where the famous Catalan writer Josep Pla was born (famous for its descriptions of the Costa Brava and Empordà ).

Palafrugell offers an interesting commercial activity in the centre of the town, as well as a traditional town market of vegetables, fish and fruits, every Sunday. The cultural and night activities held are the Jazz concerts of Cap Roig, the Havaneras song festival and several activities that take place in the town square of Plaça Nova.

The most outstanding activities holds in Palafrugell are: gastronomy demonstration based in the sea product of "Garoinada" (1st term of the year), Spring Festival's (carnival moved in May due to an ancient prohibition of carnivals), Havaneras song festival at Calella de Palafrugell (1st weekend of July), Palafrugell town festival (19, 20 and 21 de July), Havaneras song festival at Llafranc (1st weekend of August), Havaneras song festival at Tamariu (1st weekend of September).
